Tony's fans have followed him to some interesting venues in the last few months, but this was one of the most unusual. Southopia was housed in a dark red building with admittance obtained by pulling on a heavy rope hanging in a tiny lobby. The dark red theme continued inside with an Egyptian theme to the ladies and no evidence of a gents. Tony provided a welcome diversity, being the only male singer-songwriter to perform his own songs as part of the "Songbirds" showcase organised by Nicki Lamborn of "Never the Bride".
Anna Mac sang four songs she'd written with Tony with her sister, Tara, providing backing vocals and Tony accompanying them on piano.
Other artists include Never the Bride, Eliza Wren-Payne, Findley Webster and Lorelei. The atmosphere was brilliant and it was an very enjoyable evening. (HJB)
