Tony's latest venue could not have been further from the intimate setting of his last at Lanzi's: a large open tent on top of a muddy hill at the last festival of the season. For two hours a day Tony hosted the new music stage in the "24 Hour Dub Cafe" on behalf of PodGear - who supplied comfortable beanbags for people to sit on (which unsurprisingly diminished in number as the days went by), Tony himself with an eclectic change from his usual amazing shirts, and unsuspecting members of the audience with promotional items traditionally associated with barbers' shops.
The line-up over the three days included a number of Bedford favourites and some new faces: Caleb,
Alchemy,
The Storys, Jay & Benjy, J'nay, The Deadbeats,
Beth Rowley and
Riccardi, but the highlight was (of course) Tony's own set on the Sunday afternoon.

Tony's Sunday set was attended by one of the largest crowds we had seen in the tent that weekend - with him entering into the Festival spirit and changing from his 'pod gear and wellies into a striking white kaftan and shoes.

He played a number of songs from his latest album, "Perfect and Beautiful", including favourites such as "Rules of Passion" and "She's a Dreamer" and a wonderful "Age of Fear" with Ben Castle on sax. Audience participation reached a peak with them singing along to "I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight" before Tony concluded with the aptly renamed "Bestival Day of Your Life".

Bestival was held in the pleasant surroundings of the Robin Hill Adventure Park. Luckily what rain there was was very light and the facilities were very well organised.
Saturday evening saw the Bestival attempt to break the world record for the largest number of people in fancy dress with a loose theme of "Cowboys and Indians" and a diverse range of costumes including a group of scary, copper cyborgs.
